Real food.
Real mess-ups.
Real fun.
Good food, useful tips, a little sarcasm, and absolutely no pretending everything turns out perfectly. Welcome to my kitchen.

Meet Laura
I started cooking and baking when I was seven, and I’ve been making a lovable mess of it ever since.
My first batch of cookies didn’t have enough flour. My mom swore she liked them that way. I’m still not convinced, but apparently that was enough encouragement for me to keep going.
And I did.
I’ve spent most of my life in the kitchen—cooking for my family, trying new recipes, figuring out what works, and occasionally creating a spectacular disaster along the way.
I’m not a professionally trained chef. I’m a home cook who has learned by doing, messing up, trying again, and feeding a whole lot of people over the years.
That’s really what The Sarcastic Chef is about. You don’t have to know everything to get in the kitchen and make something good.
Come hang out with me. We’ll figure it out together.

Cooking shouldn’t be complicated
Some nights you’re making the whole meal—protein, veggie, sides, the works. Other nights you’re staring into the fridge at 5:30 wondering what you can turn into dinner before everyone gets hangry.
Both count.
I’m a big believer that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated to be good. You don’t need fancy
techniques, a mile-long ingredient list, or hours in the kitchen. Sometimes you just need a good recipe, a few helpful shortcuts, and the right tool for the job.
My goal is to help you feel more comfortable in the kitchen—not like you have something to prove in it.
Cook what you love. Learn as you go. Take the shortcuts. And for goodness’ sake, have some fun with it.

A new kitchen tip lands here every Tuesday.

Substitutions, rescues, the reasoning behind the step you were about to skip — the tips I already share on TikTok and Facebook, just easier to find and worth keeping. Join the list and I’ll send each one straight to your inbox.
3 THINGS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW

Stainless Steel Cookware Set
A good pan can completely change the way you cook. I use these for everything from eggs and chicken to one-pan meals and sauces.
WHY: They cook beautifully, there’s no coating to worry about, and when dinner is over, they go in the dishwasher.
Because I love cooking. Washing pans? Not nearly as much.

5″ Santoku Knife & Composite Cutting Board
A sharp knife is a game changer, and this 5″ blade is the perfect size for almost anything. Pair it with a knife-friendly, no-maintenance composite cutting board and you’ve got two everyday kitchen workhorses.
WHY: They make prep easier. The knife is comfortable to hold and does the hard work for you, while the cutting board helps your knife stay sharper longer.
Chicken, tofu, onions, sandwiches—you name it. Every kitchen needs a good knife and a cutting board that’s good to it.

Deluxe Multi Cooker
Rice. Yogurt. Shredded chicken. Beans in less than an hour with no pre-soaking. Those are just a few of the things I make in my Deluxe Multi Cooker—and I use it almost every single day. Sometimes twice.
WHY: I can get food cooking and move on with my life. No babysitting the stove, and it handles everything from quick dinners to meal prep.
If an appliance is going to live on my counter, it better work for its rent. This one does.
