You made a perfectly good iced coffee. Why are you slowly watering it down?
Instead of tossing leftover coffee, pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it. The next time you make iced coffee, use the coffee cubes instead of regular ice.
As they melt, they add coffee to your drink instead of water.
Why It Works
Regular ice does its job—it makes your drink cold. Unfortunately, once it melts, it also adds water and gradually dilutes the coffee.
Coffee ice cubes give you the cold without watering down the coffee flavor. The stronger the melt, the more coffee you’re adding back into your coffee. That seems like a pretty good system.
Laura’s Tip
Have a little coffee left in the pot? Freeze it.
Now it isn’t leftover coffee. It’s tomorrow’s iced-coffee insurance.
