Cooking Eggs in Stainless Steel Without the Sticking Drama
Think you can’t cook eggs in stainless steel without leaving half your breakfast glued to the pan? 😂 A little heat control and the right technique make a big difference.
Here’s my quick eggs-in-stainless demonstration:
Tips for Cooking Eggs in Stainless Steel
- Start with a clean, dry skillet. Leftover residue makes sticking more likely.
- Preheat gently. Stainless steel needs time to warm evenly, but eggs don’t need screaming-hot heat.
- Add a little fat. Butter or oil helps create a barrier between the eggs and the cooking surface.
- Turn the heat down. Eggs cook best over low to medium-low heat once the pan is ready. Adjust based on your stove and skillet.
- Give them a moment. Let the eggs begin to set before trying to move or flip them. A thin spatula can help release the edges.
Laura’s reminder: Stainless steel has a learning curve, but it doesn’t have to be intimidating. A little practice beats scrubbing scrambled eggs off the pan! 😂
