Chicken Parmesan Meatball Casserole

Chicken Parmesan without standing over a skillet frying individual pieces of chicken? I’m in. This casserole takes those familiar chicken parm flavors and turns them into a hearty pasta dinner with chicken meatballs, marinara, and plenty of melted cheese.

I adapted this one from Buns In My Oven. As usual, I use the recipe as the starting point and then cook from there.

Make It Your Own

Ground chicken isn’t your only option—ground turkey works too. Use whatever small pasta shape you like, choose a marinara your family actually enjoys, and adjust the cheese to suit you.

This is also the kind of dinner that welcomes extra vegetables. Spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, or peppers can all find their way in if that’s what you have.

Laura’s Tip

Cook the pasta just shy of done before it goes into the casserole. It’s going back into the oven, so giving it a head start without fully cooking it helps keep it from getting mushy.
